No works shall commence on the building until the applicant has been responsible for organising a watching brief to be maintained during the course of the works affecting the historic fabric. The watching brief shall be carried out in accordance with a written specification and by a professional archaeologist or archaeological organisation with acknowledged experience in the recording of standing buildings, the nominee to be acceptable to the Local Planning Authority. Reason: To safeguard the identification and recording of features of historic and/or archaeological interest associated with the fabric of the building. That before any work is undertaken in pursuance of this consent, such steps shall be taken and such works shall be carried out to secure the safety and stability of the building during the alterations, and to provide protection for the building against the weather during the progress of the works. Reason: To secure the safety and protection of the listed building.
