The proposals would be contrary in particular to policy G5 set out in
the Rural Areas Local Plan and policy H12 set out in the South
Oxfordshire Local Plan (as proposed to be modified). Having regard to
the excessive size of the dormer window proposed and to its unsatisfactory
external appearance, the proposals would result in an incongruous and
intrusive form of extension which would detract from the appearance of
the dwelling and from the appearance of the locality.
