Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development would be contrary to Policy EN5 of the Oxfordshire
Structure Plan, Policy GB1 of the adopted Central Oxfordshire Local
Plan, Policy GB2 of the approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan and
Government advice in PPG2. The site lies within the Oxford Green Belt
wherein there is a general presumption against new development apart from
that which is essentially required in connection with agriculture,
forestry and recreation. The proposed erection of six dwellings on this
site would be detrimental to the open nature, rural character and visual
amenity of the Green Belt and no justification has been put forward
to override established Green Belt policies.
That the proposal would be contrary to the environmental, countryside
and housing policies of the Oxfordshire Local Plan (EN1, EN4, H1), the
adopted Central Oxfordshire Local Plan (C5, H3, H4 and H5) and the
approved South Oxfordshire Local Plan (C3, H5, H6). The proposed
development is not an infill plot and it would extend the limits of
the village of Stadhampton into open countryside to the detriment
of the rural character and visual amenities of the Area of Great
Landscape Value.
