Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the use of the land for low-goal polo shall be carried out only as
specified in agent's letters dated 13 January 1993 and 30 March 1993
accompanying application P93/S0013 and agent's letter dated 12 December
1994 accompanying the application.
Reason: To protect local amenities.
That vehicular access to the site for the purposes of practising polo,
playing in matches or tournaments and for all spectators shall be taken
from Gravel Road only and vehicular access for such purposes shall not
at any time be taken from Thanksgiving Lane.
Reason: That use of Thanksgiving Lane would result in unacceptable noise
and disturbance and inconvenience to local residents.
That the land shall be used for the purposes of practice matches,
events/matches and tournaments only between 1 April and 30 September each
year.
Reason: The Local Planning Authority wishes to control the number of
occasions on which the land is used to minimise disturbance to
local residents.
That no vehicle parking whatsoever shall take place on either side of the
access track or within 15 metres of New Cottage, Thanksgiving Lane.
Reason: Parking in, or around, the access track would be detrimental to
the character and visual amenity of the area and parking adjacent
to New Cottage would be unneighbourly.
That the land shall not be used for any purpose in connection with polo
unless the vehicular access to Gravel Road has been provided with
visibility at a height of 1 metre above the level of Gravel Road for a
distance of 40 metres to the left and 70 metres to the right and such
vision splays shall be maintained and not obstructed in any way.
Reason: In the interests of highway safety and convenience.
That no permanent structures shall be erected on the land without the
prior written consent of the Local Planning Authority.
Reason: To protect local amenities.
That any temporary structures stationed on the land for the purpose of
polo matches or tournaments shall be removed from the land at the end of
each polo season.
Reason: To protect local amenities.
