The proposed installation of upstands with an electrical outlet mounted on them for recharging electric vehicles within this off-street parking area falls within Class E of Part 2 of Schedule 2 of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 2015 (as amended) ("the Order") and would be lawful development by reference to Section 58 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 and Article 3 of the Order.
For the avoidance of doubt the upstands must be within the following limitations;
- Any upstand must not exceed 2.3 metres in height from the level of the surface used for the parking of vehicles.
- No more than 1 upstand can be provided for any one parking space.
