Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposed development to either remove or modify condition 22 of planning permission P83/S0553 would allow for all dwellings to be extended and altered within the scope of the relevant permitted development rights. This could result in the loss of the consistent form and appearance of all the dwellings within this estate and the overdevelopment of the area, which would not positively reflect or be sympathetic to the existing character and appearance of the estate. Furthermore, due to relatively dense layout of the estate, the proposed removal or modification of condition 22 of permission P83/S0553 would likely result in development that would be to the detriment of the amenity of neighbouring properties or the available amenity space for smaller plots. As such the proposed development is considered to be contrary to Policies DES1, DES2, DES5, DES6, H20, and STRAT1 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan (2035), the South Oxfordshire Design Guide (2016) and the National Planning Policy Framework.
