The extension due to its design and height and lack of subservience to the original dwelling, would appear overly dominant and incongruous in relation to the building and prominent in the street scene, and would result in harm to the character and appearance of the dwelling, the street, and the wider area including the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty contrary to policies CSEN1 and CSQ3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy 2027, policies H13, G2 and D1 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and guidance set out in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2016 and National Planning Policy Framework.
