The signage is harmful to highway safety, since it promotes the use of the land as an overflow car park for the Great House Hotel, contrary to highway safety and policies AD1 and T1 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011.

In respect of its impact on the visual amenity of the area, the signage contributes to a change in the character and appearance of an agricultural field, land for which the only lawful use is agriculture, contrary to the visual amenity of countryside and the adjacent Sonning Eye Conservation Area and contrary to policies AD1 and CON8 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011.
