Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 7th June 2016
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development does not provide adequate land within the curtilage of the site for car parking in accordance with the council's standards which would result in the displacement of vehicles on to the adjacent highway, close to a junction. Furthermore, accessing the small driveway which runs parallel rather than perpendicular to the highway is likely to require excessive manoeuvring over the footway, adjacent the junction to the detriment of pedestrian and vehicle safety in the vicinity. Ease of visibility along the highway whilst manoeuvring is also likely to be compromised as the driver would require constant changing between looking in the forward direction and looking over their shoulder, thus increasing the risk to pedestrian safety. The development is therefore contrary to Policies D2, T1, T2 and Appendix 5 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and to the National Planning Policy Framework.
