The proposed extension, due to its size and siting, would result in an awkward and contrived addition to the building, which would when held cumulatively with previous extensions be unsympathetic to the plan form of the dwelling and would harm the character and special interest of the building. As such the proposal would be contrary to Policy CSEN3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy and Policy CON2 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, and also guidance contained within the South Oxfordshire Design Guide and National Planning Policy Framework.
