Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 31st January 2014
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposed garage, by reason of its forward position in relation to the main dwelling and adjacent dwellings and its proximity to the roadside boundary, would be an unduly prominent building in the street scene and the flat roof would represent an inappropriate design, which would detract from the semi-rural character and appearance of this part of the Chilterns AONB. As such, the proposal would be contrary to Policies CSEN1 and CSQ3 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy and Policies G2, D1, D2 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and advice contained within Sections 3 and 5 the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008 and the NPPF.
