Having regard to the materials proposed for the walls and roof of the extension, the proposal would result in an incongruous addition, which would be out of keeping with the existing dwelling and would detract from the character and appearance of the surrounding area. As such, the proposal would be contrary to policies G2, G6, D1, C2 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, policies CSQ3 and CSEN1 of the South Oxfordshire Core Strategy 2027, the advice in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008 and Government guidance set out in the National Planning Policy Framework.
