Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposals are contrary to policies CON5, CON7, CON10, H4, G2, G6 and D1 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, to advice contained in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide, and to advice contained in the National Planning Policy Framework. The proposed development, due to its overall size, scale, siting and inappropriate design would detract from the setting of adjoining listed buildings, would result in the loss of the open nature of the burgage plot and would neither preserve nor enhance the character and appearance of the conservation area.

The proposals are contrary to policies H4 and D4 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, and to advice contained in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide. Having regard to the siting of the dwellings in close proximity to adjoining properties, the proposals would result in an overbearing and intrusive form of development that would detract from the amenities currently enjoyed by the occupiers of adjoining properties.
