Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 30th January 2012
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The proposed extensions, by reason of their size, location and appearance and in combination with existing extensions would fail to respect the character and scale of the original house and would be out of keeping with the character of the street scene. The proposal would therefore be contrary to South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Policies G2, G6 and H13 and Section 6 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008.
The proposed extensions, by reason of their size, position and appearance would constitute an oppressive and overbearing development. The first floor rear extension adjacent to No.2 Wayside Green would result in loss of light and outlook to a bedroom window belonging to that adjacent property. The first floor side extension would result in loss of light and outlook to the rear-facing rooms and gardens of No's 8 and 10 Wayside Green. As such the proposed development would detract from the living conditions of the occupiers of those properties. The proposal would be contrary to South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Policies G2 and H13 and Section 6 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008.
