Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 31st August 2011
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to their scale, bulk, design, materials and awkward relationship with the main house, the proposed extensions would overwhelm the proportions of the existing dwelling and so would not be in keeping with its simple character. Furthermore, having regard to the increased massing of the proposed development, it would result in a more intrusive form of development than the existing dwelling and so would be detrimental to the character and visual amenity of the Chiltern's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the requirements of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, in particular Policies G2, G6, C2, D1 and H13 and advice contained in Section 6 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
