Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 30th September 2010
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development would be contrary to Policies G2, G6, D1 and H13 of the
adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and to advice contained in the
South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008. Having regard to the limited size of the
frontage, the proposal to erect a garage in the front garden area would result in
a prominent, intrusive and cramped form of development that would detract
from the appearance of the existing dwelling, would be intrusive in the street
scene and would fail to preserve views into and out from the adjacent Conservation Area
That the development would be contrary to Policies G2, D2 and T1 and Appendix 5 (Car Parking Standards)of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011. Having regard to the limited size of the frontage of the site and to the unsatisfactory parking arrangement proposed, the development is likely to lead to overhanging vehicles and parked cars forming obstructions on a narrow adjacent highway, detrimental to highway safety and convenience.
