The proposed extensions, by reason of their excessive size and scale and inappropriate design, would detract from the small scale form and character of the existing dwelling and would fail to preserve the landscape quality of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  As such, the proposal would be contrary to Policies G2, G6, C2, D1, H12 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and advice contained within sections 5 and 6 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008 and PPS1, PPS5 and PPS7.
