The fence, gates, walls and gate piers would, due to their scale and design, constitute an inappropriate and suburban form of development in the remote woodland location, which would be out of keeping with the character and appearance of the area and would harm the amenity and distinctiveness of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As such the proposal is contrary to Policies G2, G4, G6, C1, C2, and D1 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, and guidance contained with PPS1, PPS5, PPS7 and the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008.
