Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 12th August 2009
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
The use of the land for contractors' storage involves storage in the open over an extensive area of agricultural land. The storage use is intrusive and harmful to the open nature of the Green Belt and detracts from the rural character and visual amenity of the Green Belt, contrary to policy GB4 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and to advice contained in PPG2.

The use of the site, which is located at a relatively isolated, rural site harms the character and quality of the local landscape and of the countryside, and is contrary to policies G4 and C4 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 and the advice contained in PPS7.

The use of the hard-standing areas of the farmyard for the storage of contractors' materials is visually intrusive and gives rise to a harmful impact on the immediate surrounding, which are not justified by economic considerations. The development is contrary to policies E3 and E8 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011.
