Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 3rd February 2010
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
Having regard to the design, scale and bulk of the proposed roof extension, the proposal would dominate the roofscape and result in an incongruous and intrusive addition that would fail to respect the scale and design of the main dwelling. As such, the proposal would detract from the character and appearance of the existing dwelling and this part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, contrary to the provisions of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, particularly policies G2, G6, C2, D1 and H13, the advice in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide 2008 and national guidance set out in PPS1 and PPS7.
