Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 5th January 2010
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That particularly having regard to its siting in close proximity to the boundary of the adjoining property to the west (No.13 Bradley Road), the proposed balcony would have an overbearing effect upon that adjoining property and the development would be intrusive and unneighbourly and be detrimental to the privacy and amenity of occupants of that property. Therefore the retrospective application does not accord with Policies D4 and H13 of the Local Plan and it fails to comply with advice as outlined in section 6.2.2 of the SODG 2008.

That the proposed balcony, with side screen wall, would be incongruous and out of keeping with the surrounding area because of its design and external appearance and would detract from the character of the existing building and the visual amenities of the locality. Therefore the proposal does not accord with Policies D1, G6 and H13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011.
