That having regard to their inappropriate design and the the use of non-tradional materials, the security shutters (grilles) detract from the character and appearance of the Goring Conservation Area and the local distinctiveness of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Therefore the development is contrary to the provisions of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G2, G6, C2, CON7 and D1.
