Refusal of Planning Permission on 11th April 2008
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to their size and inappropriate detailing, the proposed extensions would increase the prominence of the current subservient modern addition and dominate the original cottage. As such, the proposal would detract from the special historic and architectural interest of the listed building and would be contrary to the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, particularly Policy CON2 and the advice in PPG15.

That, having regard to their size and inappropriate detailing, the proposed extensions would increase the prominence of the current subservient modern addition and would dominate the original cottage. As such, the proposal would fail to preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Berrick Salome Conservation Area and would be contrary to the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, particularly Policies G2, G6, D1, CON7 and H13 and the advice in PPG15.
