Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 3rd September 2007
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposal would be contrary to policies G2, C9 and H4 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to the detailing of the proposed dwelling and to its particular siting in relation to the existing beech tree in the centre of the site, the proposal would be likely to result in undesirable pressure to prune or remove the tree. The beech tree is far from mature and its potential to influence the dwelling and its future occupants will only increase. The proposal to reduce the tree's crown is not considered to be in line with sound arboricultural practice and would be potentially detrimental to the future form and quality of this specimen tree.
