Having regard to the location of the first floor extension on the boundary of the site and to its juxtaposition with surrounding dwellings, the extension would result in the loss of an important gap in the streetscene and in a cramped and intrusive form of development which would detract from the character and setting of the existing property and the visual amenity of the locality. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the provisions of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011, particularly policies G6 and H13, and to advice in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
