Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 22nd January 2007
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to the modest size of the site and to the size and bulk of the proposed extension, the proposal would appear cramped, intrusive and out of keeping with the character of the area. In this way the proposal would be contrary to policies G2, G6 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. In addition the proposed extension would not appear subservient to the main house and would be contrary to the advice contained in the Council's South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
That having regard to the size, height and forward projection of the proposed extension and to its proximity to the adjacent property number 9A Bell Lane, the proposed extension would appear unacceptably overbearing in the outlook from that property and would detract from the amenities enjoyed by its occupiers. In this way the proposal would be contrary to policies G2 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
