Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to the size and design of the existing extension, which does not compliment the character or form of the original building, the addition of a further extension, which neither reflects the character of the original building nor the existing extension, would further compromise the small scale character and simple form of the original building. As such the proposal represents an unacceptable form of development that detracts from the character of the building contrary to Policies G1 and H12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and Policies G2 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit Draft and Policy EX2 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
That having regard to the location of the site in relation to public footpath (Tiddington and Albury Footpath 13) and the prominent nature of the rear (north west) elevation, the proposal to add a further extension onto the existing extension, which does not compliment the character or form of the original building, would further compromise the small scale character and simple form of the original building and would detract from the landscape setting and character of the area. As such the proposal would be contrary to Policies G1, C3, C6 and H12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and Policies G2 C4 and H13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit Draft.
