That having regard to the prominent nature of the site on a corner plot and to the size, height and bulk of the proposed dwellings, the proposal would constitute an overdevelopment of the site and would appear cramped and out of keeping with the spacious character of the surrounding development which lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. In addition, the proposal fails to provide a satisfactory housing mix and the proposed parking arrangement would result in a development that was dominated by the private car. In this way the proposal would be contrary to policies G1 and H3 of the Oxfordshire Structure Plan 2016, policies G1, G8, C2 and H5 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, policies G2, G6, C2, D2, H5 and H7 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second deposit draft 2003 and advice contained in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
