Erection of a 25 metre monopole column, six panel antenna, dish antenna, radio equipment cabinets installed within a fenced and landscaped compound.
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposed mast and ancillary equipment housing would by virtue of its height, siting and prominent location, result in an incongruous and visually intrusive form of development that would demonstrably harm the visual amenities of the area, would fail to conserve and enhance the special landscape qualities and appearance of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Beauty. Furthermore, the proposal is likely to compromise the health of trees in the immediate vicinity which make an important contribution to the landscape and their loss would increase the prominence of the mast. As such the proposal is considered to be contrary to policies G1, G15, C2 and C16 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and policies G2, C1, C2, C10 and TE1 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 (Second Deposit Draft), Central Government advice in PPG8 'Telecommunications' (2001), and Circular 4/99 'Planning for Telecommunications'.
