That having regard to the design, materials and illumination of the advertisement signs and to the prominent location of the premises the proposals would detract from the visual amenties of the area and the character and appearance of this part of the Henley on Thames Conservation Area. As such, the proposal would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted Local Plan, particularly Policies G1, G13 and CON12, and the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit (Draft), particularly Policies G2, AD1 and CON13, and to advice in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide, particularly the Traditional Shopfront Design Guide.
