Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 12th May 2004
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to the excessive size, bulk and massing of the proposed dwelling and outbuildings relative to the size of the existing dwelling on the site together with the approved extension, and to the formal courtyard arrangement of the new buildings, the proposal would appear out of keeping with the traditional character of development in the locality and detract from the unspoilt, rural character of the landscape. In this way the proposals would be contrary to Policies G1, G8 , C1 and H16 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, Policies G2, G6, C1 and H12 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit Draft 2003, advice in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide and Government advice in PPG 7 - The Countryside: Environmental Quality and Social and Economic Development.
