Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the location of the proposed hanging sign and its method of attachment to the building and to the proposed material and method of illumination of both the fascia sign and hanging sign, the proposal represents an unacceptable form of works that would detract from the historic character and appearance of this grade II listed building. In addition, the manifestation to the glass is out of character with the traditional shopfront. As such, the proposal would be contrary to Policies Con 8, Con 10 and Con 13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and Policies Con 10 and Con 13 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit Draft and the advice in the South Oxfordshire Traditional Shopfront Design Guide.
