Decision
Refusal of Outline Planning Permission on 17th June 2003
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to the location of the site outside the built up limits of Watlington the proposal represents an unacceptable form of development which would result in the undesirable consolidation of the ribbon of development on Hill Road and would detract from the landscape setting of Watlington and the character and appearance of this part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Furthermore the forward projecting double garage would create a form of development that is out of keeping with the established character of other dwellings in the area. As such the proposal would be contrary to Policies G1, G5, G8, C2 and H6 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, Policies G2, G4, C1, C2, C4 and H6 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 First Deposit (Draft) and the advice contained in Section 4.3 para CP1 of the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
