That having regard to the simple linear form of the building, the introduction of a new structure at right angles to the west range would result in a discordant, dominant and visually intrusive extension that would detract from the character and appearance of the building and be detrimental to the visual amenities of the locality which lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Therefore the development would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, policies H12 and C2 and the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011 Second Deposit Draft, particularly policies C2 and H13.
