That the proposal involves the addition of a hanging sign to the existing advertisements on the building. Having regard to the use of modern materials, its non-traditional design and its excessive size, the erection of the proposed sign would result in an inappropriate feature which would detract from the historic character and appearance of this Grade II listed building, which would be contrary to the provisions of Policy CON12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan and Policy CON13 of the Second Deposit Draft of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan 2011.
