Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 5th March 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the development would be contrary to the provisions of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, which generally seeks to resist development which would extend the built-up limits of development into the countryside (Policies G5 and H6) and to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (Policy C2). In this case, the site comprises an important open and undeveloped space at the edge of Ewelme and the erection of a dwelling on this site would visually extend the limits of development into the countryside detracting from the character, appearance and setting of Eyres Close and the visual amenity of the locality which lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
That, having regard to the location of the development relative to 'The Views' the development would overlook that property detrimental to the residential amenity of its occupants, contrary to Policy H4 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
