Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 16th January 2002
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposed extension, by reason of its scale, mass and bulk would dominate the existing dwelling and fail to respect the attractive character, modest scale and proportions of this
semi-detached pair of dwellings. The extension would detract from the character of the existing dwelling and would fail to preserve the character and appearance of this part of the Watlington Conservation Area. As such it would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies H12 and CON10.
That the proposal fails to make adequate provision for the parking of vehicles within the site in accordance with the Council's adopted standards and would therefore be likely to lead to
on-street parking in the vicinity to the detriment of the safety and convenience of other users of the highway. As such the proposal is contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policy G11.
