Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 12th December 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the erection of external lattice security shutters is contrary to the Conservation policies of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G8, CON8 and CON10 and advice contained within the Council's Traditional Shop Front Design Guide. Having regard to the prominent location of the premises within the Conservation Area, the external security shutters represent an inappropriate form of development by virtue of their utilitarian form, design and construction, which fails either to preserve or enhance the character of the area. As such, the development is considered to be detrimental to the character and appearance of this part of the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area.
