Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 25th July 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the retention of the security shutters is contrary to the Conservation policies of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G8, CON8 and CON10 and advice contained within the Council's Traditional Shopfront Design Guide. Having regard to the premises' prominent location within the Conservation Area the security shutters represent an inappropriate form of development by virtue of their modern form, design and construction, which fails to either preserve or enhance the character of the area. As such, the development is detrimental to the character and appearance of this part of the Henley-on-Thames Conservation Area.
