Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 11th June 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That, having regard to the modest scale and character of the existing bungalow, the excessive size and bulk of the proposed extensions, and the inclusion of a flat roofed element at the front of the dwelling, the proposal would result in an inappropriate and incongruous form of development which would overwhelm the modest proportions and form of the existing dwelling and detract from its character and appearance. Furthermore the proposal would detract from the character and visual amenity of the area which lies within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As such it would be contrary to the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly Policies H12 and C2 and advice in the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Design Guide and the Chilterns Design Guide.
