That the proposed extensions, by virtue of their scale, mass and bulk, would fail to respect the modest proportions of the existing dwelling and result in a series of additions that would be detrimental to the character of the existing dwelling. Furthermore, the proposals would increase the built-up appearance of the site to the detriment of the natural beauty and special landscape qualities of this part of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As such, the proposals would be contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies H12 and C2.
