The proposed two storey extension extends up to the joint boundary with number 2a Old London Road and is neither set back from the front of the existing property or set down from the ridge height of the roof. The proposal would therefore result in a form of development that does not maintain the proportions of the original dwelling and would also appear cramped on its plot, detracting from the visual amenities of the area.
