The proposed signs by reason of their inappropriate materials, style and colour and the illumination of the projecting sign, would represent a visually intrusive and discordant feature in the street scene which would not preserve or enhance the character and appearance of the Wheatley Conservation Area and would detract from the setting of the adjacent listed building No 37 High Street.
