Decision
Refusal of Consent to Display an Advertisement on 17th September 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That having regard to their excessive size, number and illuminated form, these prominent roadside advertisements represent an intrusive and inappropriate form of advertising which detracts from the visual amenities of the rural location in this part of the Area of Great Landscape Value. As such the proposal would be contrary to policies C1, C3 and G13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.

That the larger of the two signs located to the south-east of the access is sited within the visibility splay of the access and, therefore, represents a potential hazard to the safety and convenience of highway users. As such the proposal would be contrary to policy G13 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
