The proposed extension would be contrary to policy H12 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to its bulk and siting relative to no 31 Barlow Close, the extension would be overbearing, intrusive and unneighbourly thereby detracting from the standard of residential amenities enjoyed by the occupiers of no 31 Barlow Close.
That having regard to its size and siting the proposed extension represents an intrusive form of development detracting from the relatively spacious setting of the existing dwellings, and would lead to a progressive detraction from the character and appearance of the street scene, so being contrary to policy H12 of the South Oxfordshire Local Plan and advice set out in the South Oxfordshire Design Guide.
