Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 14th March 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposal would be contrary to policies CON 8, 10 and 14 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The proposal would result in the permanent loss of a clearly defined historic medieval burgage plot which contributes to the character of this part of Thame. Furthermore having regard to the form and detailing of the proposed dwelling, it is considered that the development would neither preserve nor enhance the character and appearance of the Thame Conservation Area.
That the proposal would be contrary to policies G1, G8 and H4 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. Having regard to the form and detailing of the proposed dwelling it is considered that the proposal would appear intrusive and out of keeping with the character of surrounding development.
That the proposal would be contrary to policy G10 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan. The proposal would result in the undesirable intensification in the use of a sub-standard access lacking adequate visibility which would be detrimental to the safety of pedestrians using the public highway.
