Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 28th November 2000
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the site lies within the Little Wittenham Conservation Area, and having regard to the location of the wall relative to the road, the proposals would result in the introduction of a harsh urban feature which would detract from the character and appearance of the locality, detrimental to the visual amenity of the area contrary to Policy CON8 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.

That insufficient information accompanies the application to demonstrate that the wall can be constructed without damaging several yew trees; the loss of which would detract from the visual amenity of the Little Wittenham Conservation Area. The development is therefore contrary to Policy C18 of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan.
