Conditions / Refusal Reasons
In the opinion of the Local Planning Authority, the proposed dwellings, by virtue of their siting, scale and height, represent a cramped, over-development of the site which would appear unduly prominent and incongruous in the street scene, to the detriment of the character and appearance of the area. Furthermore, the development would result in unacceptable overlooking of adjoining properties, particularly 16 Blandy Road, to the detriment of neighbouring residential amenity and would fail to provide an adequate standard of living environment for future occupiers of the dwellings by virtue of the restricted private amenity space, cramped and inconvenient parking arrangements and a poor level of amenity within principal habitable rooms. As such, the proposals are contrary to the provisions of the Council's adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, particularly policies G1, G8 and H4.
