Decision
Refusal of Planning Permission on 13th February 2001
Conditions / Refusal Reasons
That the proposals are contrary to the housing and countryside policies of the adopted South Oxfordshire Local Plan, in particular Policy H6 and Policy C11. The proposal to convert these barns to two residential units will result in an intrusive form of sporadic development outside the built up area of Chinnor in open countryside to the detriment of the rural character of the area. The barns are not of sufficient architectural or historic interest to warrant their retention and conversion for residential purposes in this countryside location and other alternative uses have not been shown to be unacceptable in planning terms. No exceptional circumstances have been put forward to override the presumption against this development or to override the decision made in 1991 by the Inspector on a previous appeal.
Appeal
No appeal lodged.
