Covid Compliance Marshals

South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse district councils have Covid Compliance Marshals to encourage and support the public to follow COVID-19 safety guidance.

The marshals are on duty in town centres and busy areas. They engage, explain and encourage businesses and members of the public to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines to help keep everyone safe.

Hands, Face and Space guidance video.

What do the marshals do?

  • promote social distancing and encourage public compliance with Covid-19 public health measures
  • educate and explain Covid-19 guidelines in public areas and for business premises
  • encourage and support businesses to trade as safely as possible in line with these Covid-19 guidelines

Do they have any enforcement powers?

The marshals are employed by Vale of White Horse and South Oxfordshire district councils to support the enforcement work being carried out by the councils’ Environmental Health and Licensing Teams.
